Today marks day two of the Winter Festival in Makkovik.
Kim Andersen is now the Team Leader for DHSD.
She says the Family Boil-up was scheduled to take part today at Sandy Head but due to extreme weather conditions the family boil up will be scheduled to a later date.
There will be a Family Scavenger hunt starting at the DHSD Building tomorrow, March 10th, starting at 6 pm.
March 11th at 6 pm will be the family soccer game by the arena.
On day five, March 12th, they will be having a community breakfast starting at 7:30 am; there will also be a presentation on TB.
Friday, March 13th will be day six for the Winter Festival and the first night of the Community Jamboree, where the local people in the community can show their talent on starting at 6 pm.
March 14th will be night two of the Community Jamboree where people from out of town can perform starting at 6 pm, and the Silver Wolf Band and Gerry Mitchell will also be performing.
And on March 15th, there will be a smelting trip to Postville.
