The 27th Annual Makkovik Jamboree will be holding a two night event this year.
Kim Andersen is now the Team Leader for DHSD.
She says there will be local performers entertaining on Friday, March 13th, and invited guests from out of town performing on Saturday, March 14th.
Andersen says there will also be an event for a long time co-worker who retired last fall in November of 2019.
This event is a dedication for Linda Pottle, who for many years organized the Makkovik Jamboree and served the community as Team Leader for DHSD.
The Theme for this is called “It’s a Great Day to be Alive”.
Andersen says they have two invited guests who have responded and will be there to attend the Silver Wolf Band from Goose Bay and Gary Mitchell from St. John’s who has been the key MC for the Jamboree.
She added a smokeless candle will also be lighted during the jamboree to remember and honour people who have passed away in 2019 and 2020, and will have pictures posted of those for the families.
