Labrador’s Moravian Church Choir script,”Makkipok” which is sung on Easter Sunday, will be performed in St. John’s, NL on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018.
Over 100 musicians will perform a concert of Labrador Moravian music at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist Church.
The Lady Cove Women’s Choir, in partnership with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, (NSO) and Newman Sound Men’s Choir, will give the audience a chance to experience this unique part of a Labrador Inuit concert.
Makkipok- Labrador Inuit Music for Passiontide and Eastertide, will include much beloved music such as Ernîk erligidlarpagit, Hosiana Jesus nakudlarpok, and many more.
To make this event accessible to the people of Labrador, as well as communities around the globe, Memorial University’s Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning will live stream the concert.
