Labrador Aboriginal Training Program (LATP) is in partnership with 3 Labrador Aboriginal Groups, Nunatsiavut Government, Innu Nation and NunatuKavut Community Council.
Janelle Barbour of Nain is the Career Counsellor for Nunatsiavut with LATP.
She says they are also partnered with Vale NL in mining at Voisey’s Bay.
Barbour says there’s already been some Nunatsiavut Beneficiaries sent to Sudbury, Ontario for training within the underground mining.
She says there are more training involved depending on what Vale NL is looking for: such as heavy equipment technicians, and electricians.
