Joseph (Buddy) Merkuratsuk is an elder from Nain, and grew up living north of Nain as a child.
He says that he would spend a lot of time learning from his dad, seal hunting up Tasiujak and Silutalik.
Merkuratsuk also says that around this time in September, they would be getting ready to head North.
He added that he has memories of his grandmother and mother making seal skin boots.
