It is always good to hear from Elders, when they take about their community and what they used to do in them days.
Nellie Winters was born in OkKak and now lives in Makkovik.
She says one year, there were four women who made kamiks and they would sell their kamiks to the stores for $1.00 a pair.
Winters adds she herself used to make dried cod fish to sell to the store as well and they were 10 cents for one.
Stay tuned to PiusituKavut to hear more from Winters today.
