The Hopedale Woodward’s Oil gas station has ran out of stove oil.
Marjorie Flowers is the AngajukKâk for the Hopedale Inuit Community Government.
She says the HICG had run out of furnace oil since last week as well as some of the residents.
The hydro only has enough to last another week to ten days.
The HICG have very little fuel left for their machines to run their heavy equipments such as the excavator, grater, dozer, and dump truck.
We also spoke with the gas station attendant in Hopedale and he says the oil tanker was in Natuashish and is now holding outside of Nain due to weather.
The oil tanker should be in Hopedale within the next few days once the weather permits.
She adds that the gas station will be receiving another oil tank in October.
