HOPE Lights in Nain

The Nain Inuit Community Government met with the Recreation Department and had the idea of setting up lights in the community to uplift the spirit again.

The Recreation Department put up lights of “HOPE” at the ballfield.

Joe Dicker is the AngajukKâk for the NICG.

Due to the province going back Alert level 5 back in February, a lot of things was shut down and nobody was allowed out.

Samuel Ittulak and Edward Harris finished putting up the lights last evening.

The Recreation Department groomed all along the fence for anyone to walk around and enjoy the lights.

Dicker said it was a pleasant surprise to see the beautiful lights of “HOPE” in our community, and now people can finally have a reason to be out and about.

Later on, they plan to groom the trail roads up to Annainaks so people will be able to walk around on the weekends or weekday.

AngajukKâk says they have a lot planned for the upcoming week once the alert level changes.
