Fun In The Sun Festival

The Postville Department of Health and Social Development in partnership with Mental Health presents the Fun in The Sun Festival.

This year marks the 23rd annual Fun in the Sun Festival.

Next week, July 26th they will have a community breakfast sponsored by the Postville Inuit Community Government starting 7am. 2pm is a teddy bear picnic sponsored by Sheppard’s Variety, 6:30pm there is a 1990’s theme dance for children under 11, 5 and under are to be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and at 9pm there is poker run for ages 14+, $5 per person.

July 27 starting 10am they will spend the day at Little Brook Pond with a fire pit, homemade boat race, water war, along with swimming, and at 6pm they have Bingo with cards for sale at the community centre from 3-5pm.

July 28, there will be kids games at the ball field starting 10am, with cash prizes of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as cash prizes for all other participants. Lunch hour they will have a BBQ sponsored by VALE. The evening they will hold their Fun in the Sun Fair event of Balloon Darts, Face Painting, Coin Drop, Fish Pond, Jail, and Cake Walk.

July 29th at 12pm there is senior’s lunch and games for ages 65+, at 5pm there is the community potluck, you can bring your favorite dish to the community centre and join them for a meal. To end off the Fun in the Sun Festival they will have Fireworks starting 10:30pm.
