Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture were informing us the fire updates when a lighting occurred near Nain.
That struck and caused a huge forest fire.
We spoke with Steven Michelin the Conservation officer IIIA.
He says there is no new hot spots reported now for 9 days.
They monitored the forest fire since day 1 that occurred on July 1, 2023.
Michelin adds with the weather pattern, the wind is north northernly, and he adds that they don’t expect to see a fire.
If there is no sign of any fire within the next 2-week period, they will consider no active fires.
He adds that there shouldn’t be any sign of any smoke even from the Quebec fire.
