The Eastern Canada Seabirds at Sea (ECSAS) Program has opened for spaces up in the training this week.
This is an opportunity for people from any coastal community to participate in training for the program in Nain this week from today till Friday, Oct 25th.
Participants will be trained to collect information on numbers and locations of seabirds to contribute to the ECSAS Program,
Information is collected from boats throughout the region at all times of year by trained observers using a common method.
The training is 4 days, where 3 days is training and 1 day on the water as a practical session.
The training is informal and designed for people who spend time in boat and want to contribute information to a database of seabirds in eastern Canada for research and conservation purposes.
They can fly people on a charter to Nain and will be brought home this Saturday, October 26th.
You need to be available for all the training in 4 days. The training is voluntary but they will cover the costs of accommodations and food in Nain.
