The Department of Health and Social Development is partnering with the Nain Family Resource Center to start up a Weekly Prenatal Class for expecting parents.
Joanne Moores is the Public Health Nurse with DHSD.
The DHSD Public Health is currently delivering invitations to pregnant moms.
The Prenatal Classes will be held each week for 5 weeks every Wednesdays starting at exactly 5pm, located at the Family Resource Center.
Starting tomorrow they will hold their first Prenatal Class.
They will be doing the classes a bit different this year, they will begin with preparing the healthy meal that is an affordable price, and everyone will prepare the meal, and begin with the Topics.
Your partner and your child/children are also welcome to attend this program. The FRC Staff will have events planned for your child/children while the meal is being prepared, along with during the class.
The topics for this 5 week class will begin with Nutrition, than 9 months of Change, Labour and Delivery, Post Partum, and Breastfeeding. And at the end of each class there will be a door prize, the prize is a box of food items of what has been prepared that evening of each class.
Moores adds that she hopes everyone shows up for this and that they are excited to start up.
