The Rhubarb Festival in Hopedale is celebrating their fifth day today at the Nanuk Community Centre.
Doris Boase is part of the organizing team.
There will be a flea market tonight at 7pm at the Centre with $20 a table.
Setup will start at 6:30pm for those reserving a table, children 12 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Starting at 8pm will be the Ruby’s Festival Dance that will be held at the Centre, and anyone who dresses in a 70’s theme will have a chance to win a prize.
Tomorrow, Saturday, July 16, 2022, there will be a fishing contest for children between the ages of 4 to 12 years of age, and anyone 13 years of age and older will run all day from 6am to 7pm.
This contest is within the Hopedale area only; you cannot go to another community to fish for this contest.
The weigh-in will be at the Centre between 5 to 7pm, and fish will not be weighed after 7pm.
Prizes will be awarded for both age categories, and winners will be awarded during the Lumberjack competition.
There is a registration fee of $5 for children between the ages of 4 years to 12, and $10 for anyone 13 years of age and older.
Fees can be paid to Boase no later than 9pm tonight.
