The coastal communities are soon finishing the school year.
In Nain, tomorrow, Tuesday, June 20, they will have a clean up day. Wednesday, they will have sports day, and on Thursday they are having their awards starting with K-6 at 11am, and again in the evening for the 7-12’s.
In Postville, tomorrow they are having sports day, on Wednesday they have awards, and Thursday students will be dismissed at 12:30pm along with their report cards.
The school in Makkovik has a community clean up today, Monday, June 19, tomorrow they will have a dress up day themed Hawaiian, and some food, along with their sports day in the afternoon. On Wednesday they are having an Indigenous dress up day for the best dressed theme, along with a picnic. Students will be dismissed from school on Thursday after the K-11 awards, and on Saturday they will hold their grade 12’s graduation ceremony.
Rigolet’s school has planned a sports day that will go ahead tomorrow along with a barbeque of hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, and juice.
In Hopedale, today they will have indigenous day activities for K-3, and sports day for grades 7-12. Tomorrow they will have sports day for K-3, and Indigenous day activities for grades 4-12, along with a community clean up. On Wednesday they will have a garden party for all grades.
