Coastal Father’s Day Activities

Father’s Day is just a couple days away.

We contacted the DHSD’s along the coast to see what activities they have planned.

Linda Pottle who is the Team Leader in Makkovik says they planned a dinner at noon serving shake ‘n bake chicken, mashed potato and vegetables, along with a presentation and door prizes at the DHSD Multi Purpose Room.

We also contacted the Nunatsiavut Government’s Department of Health and Social Development in Postville.

Candy Jacque is the Community Health Worker in Postville for DHSD.

Jacque says the supper will be having a Father’s Day supper starting this evening at 4:30 and they will be serving Mary Brown’s chicken along with salads.

On Sunday, June 16th, 2019, a Father’s Day service will be held starting at 11am.

Pastor Richard Paddock is the Pastor with the Pentecostal Church in Postville.

He says that there will also be a family potluck at the Recreation Hall starting at 6pm, and local musicians will share their music and song with the community.

In Hopedale we spoke to Julianna Flowers who is the Community Health Worker.

She says there will be a Brunch for father’s at 11:30am at the Nanuk Centre on Sunday, June 16.

Winters adds the father’s will have a fishing hat contest and game of Dice as well.

And for Rigolet, their activities for Father’s Day will be on Monday, June 17.

They will be having supper, games, and prize draws at the DHSD Building starting at 5pm.
