Coastal DHSD’s Halloween Activities

The OK Society has contacted the coastal DHSD’s to see what they are preparing for their Halloween activities.

Jane Merkuratsuk is the Community Health Worker here with the Nain DHSD.

She says they will be holding a Ghost Story Telling for ages 16 and up starting at 6 pm tonight at the DHSD Multi-purpose Room.

They will also be taking names until 4 pm for the Window Decorating on the 30th and will be judging at 6 pm with prizes to be won.

The prizes for 1st place will be a $100 gift card from Northern, $75 for 2nd place, and $50 for 3rd.

In Hopedale, we spoke with Juliana Winters who is the Community Health Worker.

She says they will have a Diabetes Bingo along with a Halloween Party this evening for senior’s ages 50 years and up from 5-7 pm, and for ages 18-49 from 7-9 pm at the katingavik.

In Rigolet, we spoke with Pam Campbell who is the Mental Health and Addictions Worker.

She says they will have a Family Pumpkin Carving tonight at 6:30 pm at the Community Hall in partnership with the RCMP.

In Makkovik, there will be a Family Pumpkin Carving tonight at the DHSD from 6-8 pm.

The OK Society will have more of the Halloween activities tomorrow.
