The OK Radio contacted most of the community freezers along the coast to see what they have to offer and what their opening hours are over the holidays.
In Nain, they have seal fat, char, chicken, moose meat and sausages.
They would like to remind our residents that anyone wanting to pick up some moose meat and/or sausages, are asking for 2 people at a time every other day.
Their hours over the holidays are:
December 24-28 closed
December 29-31st open regular hours
January 1st, 2021 closed
January 4 and 5th open regular hours
January 6th closed and then back to regular hours on January 7th.
In the Hopedale community freezer, they have vacuum sealed char and smoked char, cod, char, moose meat, and chicken.
Their hours over the holidays are:
December 24-28 closed
December 29-31st open regular hours
January 1st closed
January 4th and 5th open regular hours
January 6th closed and then back to regular hours on January 7th.
In Makkovik, they have char and cod; they are also in the process of organizing their Christmas hours.
And in Postville, they have moose meat, cod fish, salmon, a duck and some char.
Their hours over the holidays are:
On December 24th and 25th closed
December 28th-31st open regular hours
January 1st – closed
4 and 5th open regular hours
6th closed and then open again back to regular hours on January 7th.
