OK Radio contacted most of the community freezers along the coast to see what they have to offer.
In the Nain community freezer, they have some seal meat, mattak, jumper meat, fish heads and char.
They have started a delivery system. If you would like to receive meat from the Community Freezer, you can call 922-2380 on Monday or Tuesday morning from 8:30am-12pm.
Staff will take your name and address to have meat delivered to your house on Thursday’s, weather permitting, Friday as a backup day and they ask that someone be home to receive it.
Masks must be worn if going inside.
The Hopedale community freezer has seal meat, smoked char, mattak, smelts, char and bison.
They only allow one person at a time for people to keep their distance.
There will be hand sanitizers available as well.
In Postville, they only have salmon available to offer.
And anybody wanting to drop by at the community freezer is asked to call in advance, wear a mask and hand sanitizers available.
In the Rigolet community freezer, they have red berries, crab claws, beef/pork roast to offer.
They would also like to notify the public that they will now be allowing up to 5 people at a time and to maintain social distancing.
