Carey Price Wins Award

Canadian Fans, Montreal Canadiens goalie, Carey Price, has won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL player who best qualities sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.

Price won the award over finalist Zdeno Chara of New York Islanders and Kevin Hayes of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Price praised Chara and Hayes and all other nominees for springing back and thanked the Canadians Organization, its fans and his teammates before” most importantly” thanking his family without whom “this would have been a lot more difficult”.

Price said,” I’m very grateful to have all these people in my life”.

The award is named after Bill Masterton, a former Minnesota North Stars player who died following an injury sustained in a game during 1967-1968 season.
