Canada Day in Hopedale (Dated June 30, 2022)

The community of Hopedale has activities planned for Canada Day tomorrow, July 1, 2022.

Danielle Pottle is one of the organizers.

She says Canada Day will kick off with a parade.

There will be judging of the best decorated stroller with a prize of $50 and a gift basket, the best decorated bicycle will get $50 and a gift basket, the best decorated ATV will get $100, and the best decoration car or truck will win $100.

The best decorated vehicles will be announced and will make their way through the community.

There will be a flat race at the small dock starting at 2pm, all participants will have their team entered for a prize of 10 gallons of gas.

The team must consist of one female and one male, one member must be between the ages of 16 years to 49 years, and the other member must be 50 years of age or older.

1st place winners will get $300, 2nd place winner gets $200, and 3rd place winners will get $150.

There also will be a Canada Day best decorated cake contest.

Participants have until 12pm on Friday to submit your cakes; all cakes will be auctioned off after the contest and proceeds will go to the recreation.

1st place winner will get $150, 2nd place will get $100, and 3rd place will get $75.
