Avian Influenza Swabs Available

The Nunatsiavut Government conservation officers will have the Avian Influenza swabs in each community this hunting season for anyone that wishes to have their migratory game birds swabbed for the Avian Influenza.

The migratory birds should be fresh and not frozen to collect the sample.

They will collect samples in each community for hunters wishing to have their birds swabbed. It may take several weeks to get the results back from the lab once the samples are sent out.

For more information, you can contact the Wildlife Manager Jason Dicker at 922-2942 or your local conservation officer.
