The Nain TaKuaKautik Food Bank had their monthly food distribution yesterday evening.
The food bank is run 100% on volunteers and donations.
We spoke with Brenda Jararuse, one of the volunteers.
Jararuse says this month they had 147 people/families access the food bank.
And 84 vouchers were given out when the food bags ran out.
The TaKuaKautik shelves are nearly empty from their annual food order which lasts until fall, winter and spring.
She adds they placed another food order, and they are expecting more food to come on the next boat, hopefully.
Donations are always helpful to keep food on their shelves to be able to feed our community.
So, if you have any food donations the food bank is always accepting donations to keep the food bank open.
