A round table, according the Nunatsiavut environmental protection act is a process that aims to involve community members in environmental decision-making by invited inuit to review a project proposal in advance, and then meet to discuss their views and knowledge, and seeking consensus with respect to the environmental effects of a project and advice for the Minister.
While the public is welcome to attend the roundtable, participants had to be selected in advance by the Minister.
As opposed to the public consultation meeting where every community member is invited to attend and comment.
