A new Kayak Training program will be going ahead this summer.
Noah Nochasak is the Kayak Revival Lead with the Nunatsiavut Government’s Department of Language, Culture and Tourism.
Nochasak began building his first Kayak in the year 2009.
He says that they have ordered four Kajait each for the other Nunatsiavut communities including Hopedale, Postville, Makkovik and Rigolet.
He adds that he will be teaching basic Kayaking training locally, so that our tradition can also continue in the other four Nunatsiavut communities.
