Lifting Isolation

The lifting of isolation required for those infected with COVID-19 maybe on the horizon.

That’s according to the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald.

Nova Scotia has lifted its isolation requirements for those who tested positive for COVID-19, and Fitzgerald says Newfoundland and Labrador maybe following suit after province gets through a predicted spike in case numbers and hospitalization due to the BA-5 sub-variant of Omicron.

While those requirements are under consideration, it will be some time before any changes are made.

Dr. Fitzgerald says we have to move that way eventually, but at the moment its not the right decision. She says if we see a sustained decrease of hospitalizations, that it will be under consideration.
