Everything is winding down at the Nain Fish plant and will be closing down tomorrow.
Deidi Kolmeister is the plant supervisor.
She says all the fresh frozen char, scallops, smoked char were shipped out to headquarters in Goose Bay on the last Kamutik W trip yesterday.
Kolhmeister says there are a few bags of one pound of scallops and crab left to sell. The scallop price is $19.00 a lb, and crab is $24.00 a lb.
This summer’s fishing season went well.
Meanwhile at the Makkovik Fish plant, the turbot fishery is ongoing.
Angel Chaulk is the Clerk.
She says a total of 189,681 lbs. of turbot has landed.
There are 3 turbot boats fishing and are expected to land their catches tomorrow.
Chaulk says there are 15 employees working.
