Paulus Jararuse of Nain has now been living in Rigolet for about 30 years.
He says for the first time this winter and this spring, he is not able to go out hunting for jar seals because of the ice conditions.
The ice is not reliable and not the same as any other year.
He also adds that he is thankful for receiving some caribou meat and some musk ox meat from the local community freezer.
