The 3rd Annual Gussie Bennett memorial ball hockey tournament for ages 12 and under was a great success.
Edward Flowers is the organizer for the tournament.
He says that on Saturday the semi-finals was held and won by Landen’s team against the teachers.
Flowers says that this game was a fun game from start to finish.
At 4pm on Saturday, the finals began with Peyton’s team playing against Landen’s team, and Peyton’s team took the championship banner home.
Flowers says that there will be an award and trophy ceremony held this Friday, December 18 at the Jerry Sillitt Memorial Community Centre at 7 pm.
Flowers would like to thank all the players for playing in the tournament and honouring our friend Gussie.
Flowers would also like to thank Shannon Holwell for being the referee, and to the Nain Recreation Department for the use of the gym and for being there to keep the kids safe and helped them social distance.
Edward also would like to say, “Thank you all and hope to see you all again next year.”
