Annual Santa Parade

The Annual Santa Claus Parade went ahead at 1pm here in Nain yesterday, December 13th.

It started at the Nain airport and ended at the Jeremias Sillitt Community Centre.

Santa Claus handed out treats outside of the Jeremias Sillitt Centre at the end of the parade to children ages 12 years and under.

This wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the Toys for the North Campaign.

Every holiday season, thousands of Canadian children in the country’s most remote and often poorest communities have few, if any, new toys to unwrap under the tree.

Through the Toys for the North Campaign, CTA Members have made the holiday season brighter by distributing over $500,000 worth of toys to children in Northern parts of Labrador, Manitoba, Nunavut and Ontario.

The collected toys are sorted and wrapped by RCMP and Toy Industry volunteers.
