The commercial char fishery is going well in Nain, the char has picked up since last week.
Deidi Kohlmeister is the Officer Supervisor of the Nain fish plant.
She says a total of 4,381 char has been landed.
There are 15 plant workers employed including office staff.
Kohlmeister says there are 6 licensed commercial char fishermen.
The plant started smoking char and its available for sale at $14.75 a pound.
Anyone who goes down to buy smoked char has to wear a face mask in the office.
She added the fish plant is donating the char heads to the Community Freezer for people to pick up.
In Makkovik the Fish plant have 39 employees working right now.
Angel Chaulk is the Office Assistant.
She says 190 233 lbs has landed.
There is 1 crab boat is fishing, they are hoping to have turbot boats starting fishing soon.
3 employees are working night shift for clean up.
Workers are now started the secondary process while waiting for the crab boat to return.
