Natuashish Booze Bust

Natuashish RCMP executes search warrant on residence and seizes quantity of alcohol.

On April 25th, 2020, Natuashish RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Katshinask Street and seized a quantity of alcohol.

Shortly before 10:00 a.m., police received information that someone was selling alcohol from the home.

Officers observed two women coming out of the residence with alcohol.

They were arrested under the Federal Indian Act for being intoxicated on a dry reserve and were found in possession of one full bottle and two opened bottles of alcohol.

They were later released without charges.

Officers obtained a search warrant, entered the residence and arrested a man and a woman inside the home.

Eight full bottles and two partial bottles of Royal Reserve were located and seized.

The man was released without charge. The 21-year-old woman, who was under the influence of alcohol, was found in breach of a court order by consuming and possessing alcohol.

She was released from custody and is set to attend court at a later date.

The investigation is continuing.
