The Department of Health and Social Development in Makkovik has a busy schedule planned for this month.
Kim Andersen is now the Team Leader for DHSD.
She says this Saturday, March 7th will be a Women’s Movie Night.
On Sunday March 8th, the Winter Carnival starts and will have a public skate at the Makkovik arena.
Day two they will be having a family Boil-up at Sandy Head on Monday, March 9th starting at 5 pm.
There will be a Family Scavenger hunt starting at the DHSD Building on March 10th starting at 6 pm for day three of the winter carnival.
On March 11th at 6 pm will be the family soccer game by the arena.
Day five will be a community breakfast starting at 7:30 am to 10:30 am on March 12th; they’ll also be presenting information about TB.
Day six will be the first night of the Community Jamboree where the local people in the community can show their talent on March 13th starting at 6 pm.
On March 14th will be night two of the Community Jamboree where people from out of town can perform on their talent starting at 6pm, and the Silver Wolf Band and Gerry Mitchell will also be performing.
And on March 15th, there will be a smelting trip to Postville.
