Girl’s Day Celebration Update

The Young Women’s Traditional Day Celebration is just 3 days away.

Trudy Dicker and Maria Dyson are the two Captains for this year’s celebration on Friday, March 6th, 2020.

She says right now there are 12 girls who will be having their day, and 6 of those are first timers.

Right now they are still looking for a cook and cook helpers.

Abele Ikkusek, Joshua Jack and Matt Barbour will be helping out.

Dicker says there will be a meeting tonight at 6pm at the Nain Fire Hall, and the girls have to be there.

Both captains Dicker and Dyson are waiting for calls from other community organizations for donation letters they sent out this morning.

Dicker adds they received a ham from Haynes Store that they kindly donated.

She added the Ulapitsaijet Steering Committee kindly donated $300 for the Young Women’s Traditional Day.

Reminder to the girls who will be having their day, a meeting will be taking place at the Nain Fire Hall at 6 pm this evening.
