There will be changes to the medication dispensing in the Nain Community Clinic; which will be in effect on Monday, November 4, 2019.
Dr. Gabe Wollam is the Family Physician in Happy Valley Goose Bay and the Vice President of Medical Services for Labrador.
He says the Nain Community Clinic will no longer be dispensing long-term prescriptions as of November 1, 2019.
And this new regulation came into effect for the community of Hopedale; on August 1, 2019.
This change in medication dispensing services will be implemented at other community clinics in the future.
Labrador-Grenfell Health will continue to have a small supply of medications in case they are required by clients on short notice.
The clinic will continue to provide acute-care medications.
Nursing staff at the Nain Community Clinic will be available to answer questions and provide support during this change.
