The Eastern Canada Seabirds at Sea Program (ECSAS) started training today.
This is an opportunity for people from all coastal communities to participate.
Participants will be trained to collect information on numbers and locations of seabirds to contribute to the ECSAS Program.
Information is collected from boats throughout the region at all times of year by trained observers using a common method.
The training is four days, where three days is training and one day is on the water as a practical session.
The training is informal and designed for people who spend time in boat and want to contribute information to a database of seabirds in eastern Canada for research and conservation purposes.
