Alice Okkuatsiak who is the Community Health Worker for the Department of Health and Social Development in Nain.
She says there will be a Father’s Day lunch today, June 14, at 2:30pm, for Father’s only.
And They will be serving Zinger wings (if available), pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, cupcakes, chips, juice, tea, water and coffee.
There will also be a door prize of a $150 value of your own choice from Franks General Store plus a rod and some hooks.
The Nain Recreation Department will also be holding Fathers Day Activities.
We spoke with Lisa Ivany the Recreation Director for The Nain Inuit Community Government.
She says that there will be a Father’s Day Bingo on Sunday, June 16, 2019,
at the Jeremias Sillitt Community Centre at 3pm for all men ages 16 and up, no children permitted.
Doors will open at 2:30pm and cards will be $20 each, $100 games, $500 Mini Jackpot, and $1500 Jackpot to go.
She says there will also be an award for the Best Father’s Day T-Shirt Contest, and the prizes for 1st place will be $150, 2nd prize $75, and 3rd prize will be $50.
There will also be Door Prizes of a Go Pro Hero 6, along with 5 Bingo vouchers and Snacks will also be served between half time.
Ivany also adds that at 7pm, Bradley Lampe who is the Assistant for the JS Centre will be having a CYN Soft Ball and a Picnic at ball field for all men.
