Science Camp

Labrador institute will soon be holding a Science Camp for students.

It will run from July 8-12, 2019, and will be located at North West River, and Happy Valley Goose-Bay Labrador.

Labrador institute will be running a summer camp and is open to Innu and Inuit youth in Labrador going into grade 8, 9, 10, and 11, in the fall of September 2019.

The Summer Camp is in Partnership with Innu Nation, NunatuKavut, and Nunatsiavut.

We spoke with Jodie Lane who is the Education Manager for Inuit Pathways in Makkovik.

She says that the camp will be focusing on tradition learning and the indigenous culture, and other traditional things.

It will be free of charge so there will be no charge for participation.

She says this will bring youth together, and will be using traditional cultural activities during this summer camp.

Elders will also be invited as well from different groups.

Lane says she is helping with the names of elders who can or would like to attend, and she is helping coordinate.
