The Labrador Aboriginal Training Partnership and Vale is still holding information sessions about the opportunities for training and employment at Voisey’s Bay.
Keith Jacque is the Executive Director with LATP.
He says they held their first information session in Hopedale on September 26, 2018.
And they held one in Nain on October 1, 2018.
Jacque says today the open house is scheduled in Sheshatshiu, Located at the Band Council boardroom today and tomorrow, October 29 to the 30th.
The next community will be held in Natuashish on November 1st-2nd, 2018.
The open house information sessions will be from 2-5pm and 6-8pm each day.
Are you are interested in training to become an underground miner? If so you have to have these to qualify- you must have Grade 10 completed, at least 6 months work experience, and a clear criminal record.
Jacque adds that LATP will be looking at doing some house cleaning training in the near future like a camp attendant this will be offered in Nain and Natuashish.
