Hopedale recently had their Inuit community Government councillor election on October 16, 2018.
There were seven candidates who ran in the election.
Sarah Jensen, Richard Boase, James Tuttauk, Melvin Hurley, Patty Dicker, Danielle Pottle and Kitora Abel.
After the election finished Sarah Jensen had 92 votes, Richard Boase had 77 votes, James Tuttauk had 61 votes, and Melvin Hurley had 56 votes who won and will fill the councillor seats.
There is one more seat for councillors to be filled.
Another bi-election will be held to fill the seat, there hasn’t been a date to determine when the election will take place.
