The Nigivik Centre has been in operation now since May of this year.
The program is in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Development and the Nunatsiavut Government.
Shelley Dicker is the Community Food Coordinator for the Centre.
Dicker says the Nigivik Center first began in Nain on May 3, 2018.
The Nigivik centre provides two different programs each week.
Programs are offered to anyone who is willing to learn how to cook or prepare food.
So far the center has been a big success.
Dicker adds right now they are currently seeking funds to keep continuing the Lunch programs for students.
Dicker says yesterday the center provided their first hot meal for the children.
They served Spaghetti during dinner hour.
