September 9th is International FASD Day, an opportunity for communities to come together to support prevention and intervention of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
To mark this event, the Nunatsiavut Government did a week-long visit by Myles Himmelreich to seven communities in Labrador from September 10 to 18, in North West River, HV-GB, Rigolet, Makkovik, Postville, Hopedale and Nain.
Myles Himmelreich, resides in Calgary Alberta, and lives with FASD.
He offered insight into his experiences he faced, which includes his challenges and successes he has faced.
Myles has spoken to national and international audiences talking about his personal journey through life that includes his dealings with FASD.
During events in each community, he spoke to the public, teachers, students, public service providers and the Labrador Correctional Centre.
