On August 22, 2018, in the early morning, Natuashish RCMP received information of a shipment of alcohol coming in on the Northern Ranger.
Once the vessel docked, police were directed to a piece of a passenger’s unclaimed luggage destined for Natuashish. The luggage was found to contain 22 bottles of liquor. To prevent the liquor from entering the community, police dumped out all bottles.
Natuashish RCMP would like to thank the crew of the Northern Ranger for their assistance and urge the public to contact them if they have any information regarding alcohol arriving in Natuashish.
