The 28th Annual Trout Festival in Makkovik started on August 7, 2018 and runs until tomorrow, August 11, 2018.
Today, they started at 10 am with an Open House and Story Telling at the Museum.
At 12 pm the Trout Festival fair started at the Arena.
This afternoon at 4 pm, Carrie Cannon will be hosting a “How to make tree salve” workshop.
This evening at 7 pm Zombie Chase is a go at the Town Council Office.
At 8 pm Teen barbeque at the Teen Centre.
There will be games and door prizes for youth aged 13 to 19.
Also at 8 pm there is Texas Hold ‘em at the Arena.
$1000 prize with a $200 runner up prize, and there will be tickets to be sold on items as well.
Here is the schedule for Day 5, Saturday:
9 am, Cory Eldred Pottle 2 on 2 Co-ed Beach Volleyball Heritage Classi ages 13 plus.
A Barbeque canteen will be available.
5pm is the Trout Festival Supper which consists of Smoked Trout, Trout cakes, Fish ‘n Brewis, Fried Trout, Turkey and Moose, it is $5.00/ plate.
After that it is the Annual Carol Dyson Baking Contest with a $100 prize for the best dessert.
At 10 pm to 1:30 am is the Trout Festival Dance for ages 19 plus.
The Gregoire Boys will be performing.
Admission is $10.00.
The theme is Gangsters, and there is also a $100 prize for the best costume.
