Key Leadership in Moravian Music (Audio)

Key Leadership is a script about the broader roles played by organists in Labrador Inuit communities since the Moravians first introduced their music two centuries ago.

Tom Gordon is the Professor Emeritus of Music at MUN in St. John’s.

Gordon sent in another script in January of the new year about his thoughts on organists, one being the late David Harris Sr. and his multiple roles in Nain.

Gordon added Harris was not only an organist and choirmaster for more than four decades; he was also Chief Elder for nearly as long.

And in these dual roles he was far from alone.

There are Memories, and further back, from the Moravian records.
