There were many Inuit travelling to the St. John’s Harbour (kangitluasuk) Base Camp this summer.
John Jararuse, an Inuk senior of Nain, was one of the travellers.
He says he visited the base camp and Hebron at that time.
Jararuse says there are always many out of town people who want to learn more of the way of life, before everyone was relocated from Hebron.
He says for the past few years, he’s told many stories of how Inuit lived in different areas up north in their camping grounds.
There were also Inuit who visited from other Inuit Nunangat regions.
