Hopedale RCMP Charge Man for Drug Trafficking

Hopedale RCMP have arrested one man from Hopedale in relation to a drug trafficking investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

On November 13, 2017, Hopedale RCMP initiated a drug investigation at the Hopedale airstrip after receiving information of a suspected package containing marihuana.

Officers seized the package and received judicial authorization to open the package and view its contents, which contained a quantity of cannabis marihuana.

The package was enroute to the community of Natuashish.

As a result, after the investigation, a 26-year-old man from Hopedale was arrested and charged.

He has been released, and is scheduled to appear in Hopedale Provincial Court on January 30, 2018.

The investigation is continuing, and anyone who may have further information in relation to drug trafficking in the community is asked to contact the Hopedale RCMP at (709) 933-3820.
