New Project Documenting Stories of Inuit Elders (Audio)

The Torngasok Cultural Centre is carrying out a project that will collect stories from Inuit elders and share them over the internet.

Rosina Holwell has been hired to conduct interviews for an Elders Documentation Project.

She says the project involves collecting stories from Labrador Inuit elders about culture, language and history.

Holwell will travel to communities in Nunatsiavut and the Upper Lake Melville collecting the stories.

She says those interviews will be posted to the Torgasok Cultural Centre’s website.

The centre hopes the audio and video clips will serve as educational tools for Inuit.
