Labrador Memories: Labrador Land Protectors Meet with Minister Bennett and MP Jones (Audio)

The Labrador Land Protectors held a sharing circle with federal Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Carolyn Bennett and Labrador MP Yvonne Jones recently.

The event took place at the Moravian Church’s annex in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL on Thursday, November 23, 2017, the evening before the Prime Minister’s apology to Labrador’s residential school survivors.

The purpose of the meeting was to allow the land protectors to voice their concerns about the controversial Muskrat Falls hydro project near Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The well-attended event was run by Labrador Land Protectors Spokesperson Denise Cole, who ensured that it was calm and respectful.

Each person in the inner sharing circle was given an opportunity to voice their thoughts, without interruption.
