This year’s Fall Sports Meet was a huge success for the athletes.
The athletes who took part in the event in Makkovik, NL. were from Nain, Natuashish, Hopedale, Postville, Makkovik, and Rigolet.
The overall winner of the 2017 Fall Sports meet is Jens Haven Memorial School (JHMS) of Nain; second place went to Amos Comenius School Hopedale (ACMS), and Makkovik JC Erhardt Memorial School captured third place.
Here are the results:
Overall Female Cross Country Run: first place went to Jens Haven (Nain), finishing in second place was Northern Lights Academy (Rigolet), and ACMS (Hopedale) came in third.
Overall Male Cross Country: first place to Makkovik, second place to Hopedale, and third place to Nain.
Female Archery: first place Nain, second place Hopedale, and third, Rigolet.
Male Archery: first place Hopedale, second place Nain, third Makkovik.
Female Native Games: first place Rigolet, second place Nain, and third place Hopedale.
Male Native Games: first place Hopedale, second place Makkovik, third place Nain.
Female Volleyball: first place Hopedale, second place Nain, third place Rigolet.
Male Volleyball: first place Nain, second place Natuashish, and third, Makkovik.
The Most Sportsmen-Like Female award winner was Kirsten Dicker of Nain.
James Dicker of Nain was named the Most Sportsmen-Like Male.
And the title of the Most Sportsmen-Like Team went to Rigolet.
