Muskrat Falls Project Update

The Muskrat Falls Project is well advanced, and work is progressing across the province.

On June 23, Nalcor provided an update on the Muskrat Falls Project, including the facilities capital cost estimate of $10.1 billion, and the total cost, including financing, of $12.7 billion.

The following is a summary of some of the key construction highlights as of the end of June:

Overall construction of the Muskrat Falls Project reached 78%.

The generation project reached 69% complete.

The Labrador-Island Transmission Link was 84% complete.

The transmission line connecting Churchill Falls to Muskrat Falls reached 96%.

And concrete placement continued in the powerhouse and intake structures, with 76% of concrete placed.
